Fisherman's crab Deck, near the water'sedge at Kent Narrows near Grasonville is next to the famed Fisherman's Inn, owned by the same family since 1930. A new block addition to the front of the old shucking house dating to the 1940's became Fisherman's Seafood Market, which began in 1974. The rear of the building which housed the seafood processing was converted into the Crab Deck Restaurant in 1991.
Open from mid-April-October, it catches the breezes and sunshine amid great popularity among locals and tourists alike. Diners can watch local water men unload their catches as they enjoy sumptuous seafood from a large, varied menu in which the featured item, steamed. Blue Crabs are served in the true Maryland tradition, they are delivered piping-hot to paper-lined tables, inside and out,to eager guests with mallets in hand. Starters include soft shell clams, calamari, mussels, Little Necks, Cherrystone clams and much more! Specialties come from Steam Pots, featuring clams, shrimp and mussels as well as lobster.Seafood Bordelaise adds sophistication with gulf shrimp, sea scallops and lump crabmeat in a luscious mushroom sherry sauce. Fried or broiled deck platters include flounder or tilapia, while steak and chicken fill out the menu, complemented by many exotic drinks and delectable desserts, including over-sized "Nutty Buddies."
The main bar is "U"shaped, offering Happy Hour Mon.-Fri. and live music in summer on certain days. "Cappy's Tiki Bar",added in 2010 offers outside seating at the water's edge also at certain timesand weather permitting. The Crab Deck hosts special events, corporate crab feasts, family reunions and weddomg receptions amd rejersa; dinners. Bus Groups are welcomed with advance notice.
Awarded in 2011 as "Best Place To Take the Family", the Crab Deck offers a great kid's. menu and children enjoy feeding the waterfowl in the duck pond.
