Harris Crab House and Seafood Restaurant

Harris Crab House

The Harris Crab House, famous since 1981, was actually started from the Harris family seafood business on the front dock of the seafood processing house. The family of W. H. Harris began serving so that their customers could sit down and enjoy the freshest seafood, just caught from the Chesapeake Bay. Situated at the Kent Narrows, exit 42, Harris Seafood was started by W.H. Harris, grandfather of the current owners. He was known as a good, fair man who actually still went out on the water to catch the great seafood just two decades ago and was known fondly as Captain Bill. His processing house started business December of 1947 and has been buying from watermen, offering the same freshness for over half a century. They now celebrate four generations of business with many dedicated employees and patrons who order traditonal Maryland Blue Crabs, including extra large, jumbo and colossal!

In 1991, they opened the new open-aire upstairs deck which provides a beautiful vista of the Kent Narrows, extending to the Chester River and Eastern Bay. A renovation in the spring of 2001 offered an indoor dining room upstairs that is perfect for parties, reunions and wedding receptions and is also open to the public for lunch and dinner. The different areas open at 11 a.m. for lunch and dinner daily. Weekday specials are served Monday to Thursday 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Louisinaa style Po'Boys include soft crab, shrimp, oysters or sizzling N.Y. Strip Steak. Other specials are delicious soft crabs stuffed with Crab Imperial, Flounder fillets wrapped around Crab Imperial or the Bay favorite Rockfish Sandwich. The new Tex-Mex Fish Taco of beer battered Cod is served Mon.-Fri. 11 a.m-4 p.m.

The "From the Grill" section features both N.Y strip and Rib eye steak, BBQ Chicken or Ribs, and the Sirloin Filet Mignon stands out among the land and sea combos. Enjoy a Malibu Punch Bucket for your party, as well as Malibu or Svedka Crushes anytime and visit for the sumptuous Oyster Buffets on fridays in oyster season.
